Amazement...
Didja ever notice how people become symbols once you stop communicating with them actively? The longer the communication lag goes, the more symbolic they become, until they are locked forever in your mind in one particular fashion.
There are people like that for me. Either because of their choice (they stopped communicating) or mine (I stopped communicating with them, either out of need for sanity or just time and distance taking their toll).
